Conferences

The Commission on Legal Pluralism (CLP) actively participates in the five-yearly world conferences of IUAES and hosts international conferences every two to three years in diverse regions to ensure global participation.

While the CLP’s core thematic focus has remained consistent, its scope has expanded to address emerging legal complexities. Key themes include property, indigenous and minority rights, human rights, the environment, transnational law, international interventions, gender, religion, migration, family law, and governance.

More recently, CLP has explored the intersection of legal pluralism with science and technology, faith-based legal systems, evolving profit-making structures, propertization, commodification, securitization, and audit cultures—reflecting the dynamic nature of legal pluralism in today's world.
