Traditional And Technological Resource Use in Changing Societies
V.M. Etylin and O.D. Tregubov
Abstract
Chukotka, located at the junction between the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, is one of the most remote, sparsely populated and economically underdeveloped regions of the Russian Federation. It is rich in natural resources, and current developments in the exploitation of these, if studied in detail using the statistics which are available, display acutely the contradiction between traditional and technological resource use.
